The King’s Man - 2021 ★½

The King’s Man - 2021 ★½
Directed by Matthew Vaughn
As a collection of history’s worst tyrants and criminal masterminds gather to plot a war to wipe out millions, one man must race against time to stop them.

This film made me feel as I’m back in high school and I’ve just sat through a double lesson of History and the teacher is trying his best to give us an accurate depiction of WW1, but the class can’t stop making immature jokes. Eventually, it gets to a point in the class where you feel as every joke has been exhausted, so people begin trying too hard to keep the laughs going and you just wish you could now learn about WW1 and people would shut up.

This film was exhausting, and I honestly don’t remember the first two Kings Men movies being this ridiculous? However, I may be wrong since it has been a while. What made this film somewhat enjoyable for me was the fact that I watched it with some good friends and constantly we would turn to each other thinking “What the f**k is happening?” Also, the fact that we had to sit at the very front of the cinema, which is something I’ve never experienced before and don’t think I ever want to again. MY NECK! was in pain. To add to the entire experience, my friend and I were laughing too hard and spilled the entire large popcorn on the floor.

This entire experience was so ridiculous that you can’t help but laugh and honestly saved the movie for me. In no way is this a good movie at all, but my very specific, ridiculous circumstances of watching the movie were.
